Students have been looking for ways to beat the bookstore so they can get the most bang for their buck when it comes to textbooks. While most have found ways to connect directly to other people to sell textbooks at prices more agreeable to the buyer and seller, either through friends or over the Internet on The Facebook or Livejournal, there has yet to be a website for UMBC students dedicated to textbook sales that students feel is fair.

The SGA has responded with a new Internet site open only to UMBC students allowing them to post the books they want to sell. This helps facilitate students’ ability to sell books directly to each other without the middleman. This site can be accessed from any computer on the Internet and allows students to register using their UMBC E-Mail address. It is our hope that it becomes the one-stop shop for all student textbook needs as the number of books listed increases. For more information or to send your comments, please E-Mail the SGA at sga@umbc.edu. Thank you for using Textbook Capitalism!
